What is Alpha?

Alpha is a 11 week practical introduction course to the Christian faith.

It allows a person to explore the validity and relevance of Christianity
to his/her life.

Who is It For?

Alpha is for everyone, especially:

  • Those who are searching for the meaning of life
  • Those who are exploring Christianity and the Church
  • New Christians or Newcomers to Church

How Does it Look Like?

Each session of the Alpha course begins with a sumptuous dinner, followed by a talk. After that, participants go into small groups for discussion. Any question can be raised for discussion in the small groups.

The course explores the following questions:

  • Christianity: Boring, Untrue & Irrelevant?
  • Who is Jesus?
  • Why did Jesus die?
  • How can I be sure of my faith?
  • Why and how should I read the Bible?
  • Why and how do I pray?
  • Who is the Holy Spirit?
  • What does the Holy Spirit do?
  • How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit?
  • How can I resist evil?
  • Why and how should I tell others?
  • Does God heal today?
  • What about the church?
  • How can i make the most of the rest of my life?

Why is Alpha So Special?

  • It presents Christianity in a clear and non-threatening way
  • It provides a warm atmosphere where no question asked is too simple or too hostile
  • Participants have the freedom to share or just sit back and listen
  • A friendship-based course where some of the closest and long lasting friendships developed
