OUR VISION

"To reach out and touch lives."

BMC Care Network is grounded in Jesus' Command to love one another. Through 1 to 1 caring relationships, love, care and support to those who are hurting.

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2

"Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:11

OUR MISSION

We exist to provide Christian care within the church and to equip lay people to do the ministry of care giving.

Who we serve

BMC Care Network provides Christian care to:

  1. the hospitalized
  2. the terminally ill and their families
  3. the bereaved
  4. the homebound
  5. the aging & the elderly
  6. the lonely
  7. the hurting
  8. those facing life transition
What we do

A Caregiver is a caring Christian friend:
— who listens attentively
— who walks beside a hurting person
— who encourages with Christ's love

A Caregiver is NOT...
— a therapist
— a problem-solver
— a casual visitor

A BMC Caregiver is a member of BMC, and one who has gone through the 20 hrs of Lay-helping skill-training with BMC Care Network. He/she has a passion to help/support those who may need ‘special care’, on a one-to-one relationship; to walk through the ‘crisis’ with the person in need, for a period of time. The BMC Caregiver will maintain a high level of confidentiality of the needs of the Care-receiver.

A BMC Befriender is a member of BMC, who volunteers his/her time through the Care Network, to do casual friendly visits with the home-bound or hospitalized members. He/she has not gone through the Lay-helping skill-training, but have a heart of compassion to spend time with the lonely or the sick. A Befriender will refer a member in ‘crisis’, to the Care Network Caregivers for further help if ‘special care and attention’ is required, which is beyond just the friendly visits.
