1 Corinthians (7 sessions)
This study contrasts worldly and spiritual wisdom with the prevailing message that love – not knowledge – is the foundation of Christian ethics. In addition to teaching the good news of salvation and reconciliation with God, the apostle Paul also emphasizes that we must experience God’s love freely flowing in our lives. In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul writes about the intricacies of this amazing love. If the Holy Spirit flows in us, we will acquire the spiritual wisdom necessary for coping with envy, strife, divisions and disputes.
-
2 Corinthians (7 sessions)
Second Corinthians is a study of the most personal and intimate of Paul’s letters. This letter emphasizes obedience, respect, submission to Christ’s messengers. A second prevailing theme is that of selfless giving, defined as both acts of service and the sharing of personal possessions and resources.
-
Galatians (7 sessions)
Galatians reflects Paul at his passionate, straightforward and insightful best. He states clearly that salvation is the result of faith in Jesus Christ, and not the result of our works. By choosing Christ as Saviour, we have ongoing freedom to pursue a godly life, freedom to seek and develop spiritual maturity, and freedom to access all that the Holy Spirit offers to believers. God responds to our faith with His immutable love as He forgives, redeems and reconciles us to Himself.
-
Philippians (7 sessions)
Philippians centres around a church that was dear to Paul’s heart and a message that is filled with immense joy. Paul sought to encourage the Philippian believers by sharing the great work that God was doing in his life. We learn that joy and contentment should not be based on circumstances, but rather on our relationship with Christ. Paul’s message also highlights the importance of prayer, praise and thanksgiving.
