DISCIPLE BIBLE STUDY helps form disciples for Jesus Christ who are proclaiming the kingdom of God in word and deed. DISCIPLE is a Methodist programme and it has touched and transformed lives of more than two million people worldwide since its formation in 1986 at Nashville, US.
DISCIPLE begins with the 34-week foundation study, “Becoming Disciples through Bible Study”. For those who are hungry to read God’s Word once through from cover to cover, this programme would give a good spiritual discipline. DISCIPLE Certificates will be awarded to those who have completed 90% of attendance.
Graduates will return as committed believers who are excited about their spiritual service. They will become better Sunday School teachers, Care Group Leaders, youth leaders and better officers in the church and the community as leaders. They will be delighted to share their divine encounter they had during the above course with anyone who wants to seek more about the programme.
Priority for every Graduate of BDTBS is to spend a year following completion of the study in ministry work based on their discipleship commitment made in Lesson 33. The disciplined daily study in DISCIPLE (Into the Word Into the World) is equally demanding. Participants should wait for a year or two before joining a subsequent study.
Commitment
At least 3 to 4 hours a week of independent study and preparation, plus two-and-a-half hours each week for 34 weeks in weekly group meetings. Participants should be able to complete reading 80% of the content in the Holy Bible.
